Daily Juice
Have you ever heard of The Love Supreme? Or have you tasted the scrumptiousness of a raw mole enchilada? How about the delicateness of a BBQ Coconut Sandwich - RAW?
I know it sounds crazy but the food at Daily Juice on 45th and Duval is CRAZY GOOD! This place exudes the flavor and funky vibe of Austin with its colorful walls, jammin' music, and tasty array of juices, smoothies, and menu. I was blown away when I first tried their raw foods menu, having been a little skeptical of raw foods since my experience with it was limited. But WOW! You can totally feel the aliveness, healthiness, and most of all LOVE in every bite and sip. I highly recommend visiting this funky little restaurant and treating yourself to some vital, nourishing, and delightful flavors!
The 3 P's rating system: Price: Ranges from $5.50-15.00 depending on what you order Palate: A++ rating - super tasty! Place: Cool interior, bold and warm colors, great seating, clean bathrooms, sweet, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. My only wish was that parking was a little bit better - it's a bit of a busy intersection!
Veggie Heaven
Veggie Heaven is one of those little delightful family-owned restaurants that have almost anything for the vegetarian palate. From the rockin' and popular Protein 2000 plate to the Nugget Island and the Curry Bun - there is something to satisfy your hungry appetite. It's consistent Chinese food with a variety of choices from their menu. Try the bubble tea! It's pretty tasty, too.
The 3 P's rating system: Price: Pretty cheap with dishes ranging from $2.50-$8.00 Palate: A rating - consistent, somewhat predictable, but flavorful Place: This is a small restaurant with very close seating. It has very simple decor and the bathrooms are pretty tight. Parking can be challenging as space is limited so be prepared to walk if you have to park elsewhere. It's worth it, though.
